The attached four pages are copied by permission of the Gideons from the front of their Japanese/English New Testament. I have changed the page numbers to conform to the NNA-22 edition of the New Testament?the Shinkaiyaku edition with Tomihiro Hoshino’s picture of grapes on the cover (390 yen each, 250 yen each by the box of 60). This reading list is intended for presentation along with one of the New Testaments to each couple in the orientation session that takes place some days prior to their ceremony.
Recently the new Concise Bible appeared at a special, subsidized price, and I am now using it for my presentation to the couples. Since the Concise Bible is a grouping of excerpts from both Old and New Testaments, it would be extremely difficult to try to adapt this reading chart to it.
I feel the NNA-22, used along with the attached pages, can continue to be a valid witness in a variety of situations.
